From the feedback I knew we had to before hand add some more shots into the music video because it didn’t have good continuity and we had to make it link more with the narrative After we showed the audience our music video they told us that the found some of the shots were unfocused and a bit wobbly which we knew was going to be a problem in the production because on filming days we barely had any still shots it was mostly moving and without a dolly couldn’t make a tracking shot seem stable. We used final cut pro to heighten the filer so it looked better unfocused but some were cut from the product totally. Also the audience said that the video had an abrupt ending and that we should possibly shorten it and fade it out with the solo also linking back to the feedback we got from our teacher in the first audience feedback we did. We found that we should possibly think about making it slightly shorter because it may have been a bit too long.
The final music video feedback was good and they told us we had good sync with the audio and the visuals because Dan was singing in time and it matched the scene and his mouth. We also got told out traditions from shot to shot were on point and looked well timed. Our use of the location of Osterly park was said to be nice and used natural lighting
We used surveymonkey.com to get a audience to respond to a set of questions,in the planning and research stages of the project. We learnt that a indie music video had to have lots of bright lights and have the band in a live performance to show what Dan is like on stage and establish the artist. This shaped our final product because we have many different filters which enhance the video and make it bright, also we have a live performance which we filmed on a actual stage which looked professional.
Ancillary products-
For our digipak we got a group to look at our initial designs for it. This feedback allowed us to further develop our digipak design. We were told that the colours were too dark and we found there was no reference to the music video on it. So we took action by increasing the brightness and adding a green tone to the design making it more appealing and indie like. Also we added the guitar in and we took screen grabs of the music video and used a photo from that for the face of the digipak.
For the magazine it was basically the same thing but the institutional information had to be more visible we just put it in the corner very small that is fixed.
