Target Audience Research
In order to find out what people in our target audience of mainly teens would like to see in a music video, we conducted a survey using survey money to collect results. Below are some of the results we collected from the survey.
The results on the genre question were quite even, with most people either answering that they are interested in rock or grime. Using this, we can decide what genre we want our music video to be based on what people in our target audience like.
With more people saying they would listen to alternative rock, as the song we were thinking of doing is an alternative rock song, we now know that people would watch the video even if it is not the genre they particularly like.
Most people in our target audience said that they would prefer to watch a music video than listen to an audio, which means that our music video would get a lot of views from people within our target audience as they prefer listening to music videos's
As most people who took this survey have heard of the artist, Dan O'Brien we now know that the music video does have an audience, as many of our target audience have heard of him.
This helps as members of our target audience are outlining what they would like to see in a music video, using these answer's we can maybe implement some of these suggestions into our music video as it is what people would like too see.
Overall, this survey was successful, as it gave us insight into what genre of music most people in our target audience are interested in, and gave us insight into what members of our target audience would like too see in a music video. Now, we can use these results in order to make our final product more suited to our target audience in terms of what is in our music video, the artist, what song we use and lets us know if they would even watch a music video or rather just listen to audio.
